Selected articles and writing below, and all Thrillist articles here.
As Senior Copywriter at Thrillist, Ned was the voice of the brand, writing a daily national email that went out to 2 million subscribers, helping to generate copy for editorial tentpoles, crafting a new tagline for the brand, generating inviting and playful video copy, creating tone and voice guides for Thrillist and clients that Thrillist was mentoring, and generating social media captions. For editorial tentpoles, Ned worked with editors and writers to find the best ways to evoke and breathe life into their visions for editorial initiatives, helping to succinctly express ideas and build an immersive and polished linguistic world, specific to each project. For the newsletter, he wrote finely-tuned, unique, relatable and enticing copy that made readers think, laugh, keep reading, and look forward to opening up their emails (no small feat). Ned's work generated a lot of positive feedback as well as clicks, striking a balance between matter-of-fact, friendly, conversational, knowing, and illuminating content to bring traffic to the site and help hone the perspective and image of the brand
Ned's professional and educational background give him a strong grasp of language and a detail-oriented, highly-skilled approach to tone and voice.
