Ned has experience in editorial, commercial, dramatic, and comedic writing. Most recently, as Senior Copywriter at Thrillist, Ned was the voice of the brand, writing a daily national email that went out to 2 million subscribers, generating copy for editorial tentpoles, crafting a new tagline for the brand, generating inviting and playful video copy, creating tone and voice guides for Thrillist and clients that Thrillist was mentoring, and generating social media captions. Ned worked closely with the creative director, art director, graphic designers, editors, and writers to clarify vision and breathe life into editorial initiatives, helping to succinctly express ideas and build an immersive and polished linguistic world, specific to each project. For the newsletter, he wrote finely-tuned, unique, relatable and enticing copy that made readers think, laugh, keep reading, and look forward to opening up their emails (no small feat). Ned's work generated positive feedback as well as engagement, helping to bring traffic to the site while also honing the perspective and image of the brand in constructive, substantive ways.
Ned's professional and educational background give him a strong grasp of language and a detail-oriented, highly-skilled approach to tone and voice. His creative background in scriptwriting and comedy give his writing great versatility and perspective that can be applied to a variety of projects.
